Associate Therapist (Registered Intern)

Location: Remote (California-based)

Position Summary

We are currently seeking a warm, motivated, and committed Associate Therapist (AMFT, APCC, or ASW) to join our growing private practice. This is an excellent opportunity for pre-licensed therapists who are passionate about serving clients in a flexible and supportive setting.

Responsibilities

  • Provide psychotherapy via telehealth to individuals, couples, and/or families.

  • Maintain a minimum weekly caseload.

  • Complete timely and accurate documentation in our Electronic Health Record (EHR) system.

  • Attend weekly clinical supervision and case consultations.

  • Adhere to ethical guidelines and legal standards set by the BBS.

  • Collaborate with team members and maintain professional communication.

Minimum Requirements

  1. Master’s Degree

    • Completed a master’s program in Marriage and Family Therapy (MFT), Clinical Social Work (MSW), or Professional Clinical Counseling (PCC) from an accredited institution.

  2. Active Registration with the California BBS

    • Must be registered with the California Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS) as an:

      • AMFT (Associate Marriage and Family Therapist),

      • APCC (Associate Professional Clinical Counselor), or

      • ASW (Associate Clinical Social Worker).

    • Registration number must be active and in good standing.

  3. Residency

    • Must reside in the state of California and be legally authorized to work in the U.S.

  4. Supervision Eligibility

    • Must be able to receive supervision from a qualified clinical supervisor (usually provided by the employer/practice).

  5. Availability

    • Willing to maintain a minimum caseload.

    • Open to flexible scheduling including evenings or weekends if needed.

    • Willing to maintain an average of 18 sessions per week for part-time, and 23 sessions per week for full-time.

  6. Technology & Documentation Skills

    • Comfortable using telehealth platforms and Electronic Health Records (EHRs).

    • Able to complete timely and compliant clinical documentation.

Preferred Qualifications (Not Required)

  • Prior experience providing therapy in a clinical or internship setting.

  • Familiarity with evidence-based practices (e.g., CBT, DBT, mindfulness, trauma-informed care).

  • Experience working with diverse populations and/or bilingual abilities.

  • Interest in working with clients experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, or relationship issues.

  • Late night and weekend availability requested

  • Maintain a consistent weekly caseload.

  • Complete timely and accurate documentation in our Electronic Health Record (EHR) system.

  • Attend case consultations, trainings, and team meetings.

  • Adhere to ethical guidelines and legal standards set by the BBS.

  • Collaborate with team members and maintain professional communication.
