Janel Caryn Saldivar

Janel Saldivar is an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist Supervised by Dayna Tevis, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. Janel received her Master's in Clinical Psychology with an Emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy from Pepperdine University. Before joining Serene Pathways, Janel worked as a high school therapist and supported a diverse population of students facing various struggles. Prior to becoming a therapist, Janel worked as a registered behavior technician for youth diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder. She also has experience working with clients diagnosed with Schizophrenia and supporting the elderly.
Using aspects of Humanistic Therapy, Solution Focused Brief Therapy, Family Systems Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and multiculturalism, Janel collaborates with all of her clients to support them with their unique needs. She offers empathy, respect, and unconditional positive regard to the therapeutic space. Janel provides a safe space where clients feel comfortable sharing their thoughts and feelings. She also invites clients to share their cultural background and identities to promote inclusivity and honor many forms of healing. Her therapeutic interests include supporting clients experiencing life transitions, difficulties in interpersonal relationships, grief, anxiety, and depression. Janel aims to support clients with living their life to their fullest potential.
